About The Show

TO NORMAL.png

Have you ever wondered what it was like to experience a historical event? Although we will never be able to go back in time, we can all critically look at aspects of the past including the impact it had on individuals. But what individuals do we learn about? Who are we learning from?

There are plenty of sources that analyze historical events over the past few centuries, but here at Back to Normal we think it is important to look at different perspectives. Our podcast focuses on the perspectives of minority groups as they attempt to go back to normal after a life altering historical event. Some of these events may not even seem worthy of analyzing, they may seem insignificant or irrelevant, but for minority groups who have been impacted differently such events can produce a consequential effect on individuals and communities for decades, even centuries to come.

Our group’s varying interests and understandings allow us to take a deeper look at going back to normal by viewing and analyzing different aspects of such events and perspectives. Similarly to looking at the different perspectives from a variety of individuals in order to fully understand an event, we must look at the different aspects of events in order to fully understand what the event is and how people are affected by it, including how they go back to normal afterwards.

Back to Normal takes a look at the aftermath of historical events throughout history but offers a perspective that is rarely discussed, deepening our understanding of the event and the people impacted by it.
